Banana llama cake
It was my birthday last Friday so I made some cakes for work and tried to make them look like llamas! The end result was quirky and a bit odd and next time I will do better but they were fun to make. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture! The cake was a banana cake so I called it a banana-llama cake! (I laughed!)

oh no, oops, late as usual, happy belated birthday, love Vanessa
Hi there, this is so random, but came across your page because I am trying to make a llama cake/s for my mom's birthday (I call her mama llama and she would totally freak out for a llama out haha). I was wondering if you could tell me how you made them! I don't need your whole cake recipe, just how you decorated and got the shape right! If you could let me know that would be amazing!
Thanks for your help!
Hi Kimberly
Wish I had taken a photo of it. The cake was just a basic banana cake/sponge. I made it in two square tins and then took a template of a llama that I got from the web and cut out the body and neck and top of the legs out of cake and stuck them together (it was sort of 2 dimensional!) I then stuck them together and covered them with butter icing fluffed up to look like fur! The head I 'modeled' from marzepan, the bottom of the legs from chocolate sticks and I made a coloured blanket from coloured icing. I wasn't quite right but you tell what it was meant to be!
